Lafayette Parish Correctional Industries (LAPCORR) Quality products proudly made by inmate workers of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Inmate Industries encompasses two programs, LAPCORR Industries and Outside Inmate Work Crews, both programs foster productive inmate activity which reduces idleness and resembles a “real-world” work environment. LAPCORR is a jail industry program where various products are manufactured and sold to government agencies and non-profit organizations. Some items on their product line are: trash can liners, institutional mattresses and corrugated boxes. Outside inmate work crews provide lawn service, pick up litter, and help with laborious projects within Lafayette Parish. There are presently 19 inmate work crews under the Industries department that report for work each day. LAPCORR BROCHURE LAPCORR CATALOG Goals of the Program: - Provide quality goods to consumers
- Reduce inmate idleness and increase productivity
- Offer cost-savings to government and non-profit organizations
- Provide inmates with funds for post-release
- Develop a strong work ethic in inmates
- Generate revenue to partially offset costs of incarceration thereby reducing cost to taxpayers of Lafayette Parish
Our Inmate Workers LAPCORR operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The inmate work crew has between 4 and 7 inmate workers who are monitored by a work crew supervisor Our Products LAPCORR INDUSTRIES manufactures and sells quality products proudly made by inmate workers of the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
