Sheriff Mike Neustrom receives the Patriot Award from John E. Manion, Brigadier General James B. Cobb and T.K. Armington of the National Guard and Reserve of Louisiana. The award was given in recognition of Sheriff Neustroms' support of his employees that are in the National Guard and Reserve, especially those that have been activated and deployed to protect our country and its interests.

Cocaine, Cash and Weapon Recovered in Multi-Agency Operation

Agents with the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force, along with members of the Lafayette Police Department A.C.T.I.O.N. unit conducted an investigation from a tip that yielded a large amount of crack and powder cocaine. Agents responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Point Circle where they recovered over 3 Kilos of crack and powder cocaine valued at $200,000, $4,000 in cash and a 454 caliber handgun. Arrested in the case is 29 year-old Rochana Green of the 200 block of West Point Circle she is charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds and Firearms in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The investigation is continuing and more arrests may be forthcoming.
