National Corrections Supervisor Awarded
Congratulation to Sgt. Armen Alexandrian who has been certified as a national corrections supervisor. Alexandrian passed a written test in August at the American Correctional Association (ACA) Convention in August. Alexandrian is one of three nationally certified supervisors in the Lafayette Parish Corrections Division.

School System Appreciates Inmate Worker Program

Dear Sheriff Neustrom:

The inmates along with Deputy Jon Fremin and Deputy John O'Neal have worked very hard at painting the Lafayette Parish Vermilion Conference Center. At the Conference Center we have 21 offices and 5 conference rooms, all of which were painted by the inmates and supervised by the Deputies. We would like to thank you for allowing these hard working inmates and Deputies to come here and do such a wonderful job for the Lafayette Parish School System. The supervisors and inmates were very courteous and thoughtful in all their work and actions. It really speaks highly of our Sheriff and everyone in his department. Detectives search for suspect

Detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office are seeking help in locating the whereabouts of 24-year-old Claude Collins AKA “Man" of Lafayette, who is wanted for an outstanding warrant for Forcible Rape.

On Tuesday August 29, 2004 at around 11:30pm Claude Collins went to an apartment in the 400 Block of Sweetbriar Drive. He asked the 20 year-old female occupant to borrow an item from inside the apartment, once inside the victim stated Mr. Collins raped her.

Sheriff's Office Detectives are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Claude Collins to contact the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office at 232-9211 or Crime Stoppers at 232-Tips.
