15 Year Service Award Recipient
Congratulations to Lt. Kevin Savant for 15 Years of dedicated service to LPSO and the Citizens of Lafayette Parish.

Lt. Savant is a supervisor within the LPSO Patrol Divison.

Teacher Thanks LPSO for Supporting Education!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of education, teachers and students in Lafayette Parish. I was one of the 12 finalists in the recent Lafayette Education Foundation (LEF) Teacher Awards ceremony. Without your support, it is possible that these types of ceremonies would not happen, and that teachers would not get to realize that they have people rooting for them in the community. I feel so wonderful that I was a part of this, that so many people value education. The positive effects of being a small part of this will stay with me for so long. It has strengthened my resolve to do as much as possible for the students of Lafayette Parish. Once again, thank you for all that you do to support education.
Yolanda B. Archambeault, M. Ed, Lafayette High

Inmate taken to Hospital for Medical Condition

Monday, October 4, 2004

On Monday October 4, 2004 at approximately 12:45pm Acadian Ambulance transported a 33 year-old African American inmate, last known address Baton Rouge, La., from the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center to Lourdes Hospital for medical treatment. The inmate was booked into the Correctional Center by the Lafayette City Police at approximately 7:40am that same morning, on charges of Disturbing the Peace by Intoxication, Resisting an Officer, and Misrepresentation during Booking. Shortly after being booked, the Correctional Center Medical Staff noticed the inmate's condition needed further observation. He was placed in medical observation status where he fell into distress, medical aid was administered and Acadian Ambulance was called. Due to an unknown medical condition the inmate expired at Lourdes Hospital a short time later. The inmates name is presently being withheld due to notification of next of kin.
