Sheriff's Office Re-accredited

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

On July 29th 2006 in Lexington, Kentucky the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office appeared before and was re-accredited by the nationally recognized CALEA--Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is one of only 85 agencies throughout the United States that received accreditation, reaccredidation or recognition. The on-site assessment took place on April 22-26, 2006 and occurs every three years. It examines the department and its ability to maintain and excel in its compliance with 446 professional law enforcement standards. Four basic areas are closely examined and include: Policy and Procedure, Administration, Law Enforcement Operations, and Support Services.

Sheriff Neustrom is proud of the department and its employees. He feels confident that this reaccreditation exemplifies that the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is constantly striving to provide the most professional and modernized service to the residents of Lafayette Parish.
