Suspect arrest for Felony Theft

Monday, September 18, 2006

On Friday Sept. 15, 2006, Detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 38 year-old Scott Fontenot of Scott, on a warrant for Felony Theft.
Detectives received a complaint that Fontenot had represented himself as a Building Contractor and agreed to construct an addition to a residence in the 7400 Block of Johnston Street. The victims state they paid Fontenot over $43,000 through several installments for work to be completed. After receiving the monies, Fontenot left the job uncompleted and did not return. Detectives gathered the evidence and information available and submitted it to a judge, who in turn issued a warrant for Felony Theft
