Deputies Respond to Shooting on Latin Rd

Monday, August 5, 2002

On Sunday August 4, 2002 at approximately 5:40pm Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 100 Block of Latin Drive in Lafayette Parish. Upon Deputies arrival they found that Danny Montgomery a 38-year-old male had been shot in the leg with a handgun, he was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. Through investigation and witness accounts it was determined that Denise Joseph a 28- year- old female was in the street arguing with Danny Montgomery in reference to some type of neighborhood disagreement, and then shot him in the leg. Denise Joseph has been taken into custody and charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, the investigation is still ongoing.
