Ceremony Honors 36 ALETA Graduates

Sheriff Michael W. Neustrom announces that the Acadiana Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) held graduation ceremonies Tuesday, March 23, 2004 honoring 36 cadets who represent 17 law enforcement agencies from throughout South Louisiana.
The Acadiana Law Enforcement Training Academy is a partnership between the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and the University of Louisiana Lafayette, and trains law enforcement personnel from throughout Louisiana at the ALETA site on Johnston Street as well as the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Community Training Center and Firing Range.
Top Award Winners for this class are: Class President Michael Potter, Arnaudville Police Department; Top Cadet Abner Williamson, UL Police Department; Top Academics Troy Brashear, New Iberia PD; Best Notebook Herbert Dobler, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office; John Dooley Hardy Flashlight Michael Potter, Arnaudville PD; Top Gun Jeffrey Vincent, Abbeville PD; Most Physically Fit John O'Neil, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.
