Food Net Board of Directors Appreciates LPSO Assis
Dear Mike, On behalf of the Board of Directors of Foodnet and the thousands of less-fortunate people who benefit from our food bank, I want to express our gratitude to you and the Department for the major role that you played in our annual Christmas Food Drive. The Twenty-Third annual KLFY-TV-10/Foodnet “Food for Families” food drive was a great success – one of our best. We finished with a total of seventy-four tons of food. Our success could not have been realized without your co-operation and the assistance of the Trustees. The courtesy and co-operation of my friend, Albert Glaude. Albert is always there with his calmness and re-assurance when just about everything is dependent on the assistance of the trustees. I am very grateful to all of you. Sincerely Marcelle F. Wednesday, May 19, 2004

Sheriff Michael W. Neustrom and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office are proud to announce a partnership with the Acadiana Arts Council, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and the Lafayette Consolidated Government in providing continuing education for participants in the Sheriff's Office Day Reporting Program. (Day Reporting is a court-ordered program in which individuals are allowed to remain in society as long as they continue to be closely monitored.)

Back Beat" is a new program available to Day Reporting participants (and their families) which will allow them to learn the art of Percussion Music. Through a grant from the Acadiana Arts Council and Lafayette Consolidated Government, drums and two instructors from UL at Lafayette will be provided. The first session of classes will begin on May 19, 2004 and will conclude on June 10th with a performance.
