Food Net Board of Directors Appreciates LPSO Assis
Dear Mike, On behalf of the Board of Directors of Foodnet and the thousands of less-fortunate people who benefit from our food bank, I want to express our gratitude to you and the Department for the major role that you played in our annual Christmas Food Drive. The Twenty-Third annual KLFY-TV-10/Foodnet “Food for Families” food drive was a great success – one of our best. We finished with a total of seventy-four tons of food. Our success could not have been realized without your co-operation and the assistance of the Trustees. The courtesy and co-operation of my friend, Albert Glaude. Albert is always there with his calmness and re-assurance when just about everything is dependent on the assistance of the trustees. I am very grateful to all of you. Sincerely Marcelle F. PRESS RELEASE

Wednesday October 20, 2004

On the morning of Sunday, September 26, 2004, at approximately 2:15am, Deputies of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a simple robbery that had occurred at the intersection of E. Broussard Road and East Milton. The 17 year-old female victim stated that she was traveling home and observed a vehicle that appeared to be following her. When she stopped at the intersection of E. Broussard Road and East Milton, her vehicle was struck from the rear by this vehicle. She pulled into a nearby parking lot and exited her vehicle to survey the damage. The driver of the other vehicle grabbed her and forced her into her vehicle. The suspect then stole several items from the victim including her car keys, cellular phone and purse.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5'7" in height, with a shaved head and a goatee. The only description of the suspect's vehicle is a black automobile with square tail lamps and a white stripe along the side.

Detectives have obtained a composite of the suspect, and are asking for assistance in identifying him. If anyone has information, please call the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office at 232-9211 or Crime Stoppers at 232-Tips.
