2009 "Kiss a Cop" Event
LPSO as well as other local agencies participated in the annual "Kiss a Cop" event hosted by Faith House. The event is held every October during Domestic Violence Awareness month.

The staff and residents of Faith House host "Kiss a Cop" and invite law enforcement to have dinner with the children currently residing at Faith House.

The purpose of the event is to show children that law enforcement are the "good guys", since the only prior experience many of them have had with law enforcement involved their response to a domestic violence incident.

Food Net Board of Directors Appreciates LPSO Assis
Dear Mike, On behalf of the Board of Directors of Foodnet and the thousands of less-fortunate people who benefit from our food bank, I want to express our gratitude to you and the Department for the major role that you played in our annual Christmas Food Drive. The Twenty-Third annual KLFY-TV-10/Foodnet “Food for Families” food drive was a great success – one of our best. We finished with a total of seventy-four tons of food. Our success could not have been realized without your co-operation and the assistance of the Trustees. The courtesy and co-operation of my friend, Albert Glaude. Albert is always there with his calmness and re-assurance when just about everything is dependent on the assistance of the trustees. I am very grateful to all of you. Sincerely Marcelle F. Suspect arrest for Felony Theft

Monday, September 18, 2006

On Friday Sept. 15, 2006, Detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 38 year-old Scott Fontenot of Scott, on a warrant for Felony Theft.
Detectives received a complaint that Fontenot had represented himself as a Building Contractor and agreed to construct an addition to a residence in the 7400 Block of Johnston Street. The victims state they paid Fontenot over $43,000 through several installments for work to be completed. After receiving the monies, Fontenot left the job uncompleted and did not return. Detectives gathered the evidence and information available and submitted it to a judge, who in turn issued a warrant for Felony Theft
