Upon acceptance of a conditional job offer, new employees must also successfully complete a medical and psychological examination and drug screening. The process may also involve a physical agility test involving the essential functions of the job for which the applicant is applying. Applicants may further be required to undergo a polygraph examination regarding background and character. Subject areas from which questions are drawn include financial status, physical condition, work record, honesty, use of alcohol, driving record, arrests and convictions, drugs, narcotics, gambling, blackmail, friends, relatives, associates, and loyalty to the United States.

If you are turned down for any reason, you may re-apply after one year. There are several reason why you could be removed from the application process, should you be removed, the LPSO is under no obligation to reveal the reason for disqualification.”
