Lafayette Sheriff's Office is Accredited by CALEA
Thursday, July 17, 2003
Sheriff Mike Neustrom and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office were honored by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) with accreditation on Saturday, July 12, 2003 at the CALEA Summer meeting in Detroit, Michigan. The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is now the largest accredited Sheriff’s Office in the state of Louisiana, and the only Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana to be accredited by CALEA as well as ACA (American Correctional Association). LPSO was accredited as a class D agency, which is determined by agency size, and requires compliance with 444 applicable standards. Receiving this prestigious honor is the result of three years of hard work and preparation by Sheriff Neustrom, Sgt Doug Daly Accreditation Manager, and all LPSO Deputies who share their dedication to providing the highest quality law enforcement available for our community.
