Neustrom Honors Deputies at Award Ceremony

Sheriff Michael W. Neustrom is proud to announce the winners of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Deputy of the Quarter Awards for the 3rd Quarter of 2003. Each quarter the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office recognizes three Deputies for their outstanding service to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and the community.

Administration – Deputy W.L. “Dub” Davis – Information Services As part of the Information Services team, Dub is responsible for keeping all office computers running properly, making upgrades to the server as necessary, and handling requests for assistance from employees. Through it all, he treats both employees and outside users with “courtesy, professionalism, and respect” and displays a great deal of patience and understanding when dealing with those who may not be as comfortable working with the technology available at the Sheriff’s Office. By his actions, Dub has proven himself to be “a valued member of the Sheriff’s Office.”

Corrections – Lt. Sheila Lejeune – Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Food Service Director
Lt. LeJeune is a valued member of the LPSO whose “professionalism and courtesy” oversees the distribution of 75,000 meals per month for the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and the Acadiana Recovery Center. “Her kitchen is always clean and organized and her staff is always helpful and courteous.” Lt. LeJeune is known for her efforts to save money with “special buys” without sacrificing quality and her Department regularly receives a score of 100% during audits for accreditation.

Enforcement – Detective Kevin Stelly – Criminal Investigative Division - Detective Stelly recently completed an investigation involving the kidnapping, rape and robbery of a local woman. Detective Stelly’s professionalism and compassion while working with the victim, along with his keen instincts, were crucial to obtaining details that resulted in an arrest within seven days of the incident. The suspect was recently indicted by a Grand Jury on various charges including kidnapping, robbery, and rape.

Along with the Deputy of the Quarter winners, Sheriff Neustrom honored two Deputies with the Sheriff’s Special Recognition Award for their honorable service as part of the United States Marines during the War Against Terrorism. Congratulations to Deputy Scott Latiolais and Deputy Michael Porche! We thank you for your sacrifices, dedication, and commitment to your country, family, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.
