Weather related road issues
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued the following warning with regards to vehicular travel:
700 Block of Cocdril Road West of LA Hwy 93 (gravel portion) is impassable by passenger cars.
700 Block of Janvier Road has up to 6 inches covering the roadway: Caution is advised.
Rue Novembre has patches with up to 6 inches of water in spots: Caution is advised.
Gloria Switch Road at Janvier has standing water on the roadway.
All of these areas are in the extreme northwest corner of Lafayette Parish near the Acadia/St Landry border. There are no reports of water in homes or vehicles stranded in high water at this time.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office stands ready to respond to all high water emergencies with additional staffing and high water vehicles prepositioned in low lying areas.
