Nurse Ian Duplantis is the Challenge Coin Award Recipient for July

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Corrections Center Staff Nurse Ian Duplantis has been selected as this month's winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.

Nurse Ian Duplantis was nominated by Deputy Thomas James; in his nomination letter, Deputy James wrote, “I have had the pleasure to work with Ian Duplantis for nearly three years. I admire the compassion he has for the inmates and the fellow deputies. I admire that he takes pride in his work and his profession, treating people with respect regardless who they are.”  The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Nurse Duplantis identify and nominate the next award winner.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), American Correctional Association (ACA) and NCCHC (National Commission on Correctional Health Care) for the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
