LPSO Offenders Complete Custodial Training Certification Course
Friday, October 12, 2012
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that seven people enrolled in the Custodial Management Institute’s Basic Custodial Training Course have passed and are eligible for certification. The Custodial Technician Training Certification program is designed for frontline custodians and teaches basic and advanced custodial skills in all areas of commercial building cleaning. The Certification Program is offered in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Office DOC Reentry program, which prepares soon to be released offenders to life back into our community.
“Most of these guys are looking to turn their lives around, working and participating in a program like this shows their commitment,” says Julio Naudin Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman. Naudin goes on to say that local businesses looking to hire trained and certified custodial staff should contact a LPSO Reentry coordinator at 337.231.6365 or 337.236.3969.
Pictured here with Dr. Mary Cook, a Transitional Coordinator with the Reentry Program and the Certified CMI Program Instructor, are the offenders completing and passing the course. They are from left to right Martin White, Lamarko Felix, Troy Joseph, Elijah Clark Jr., Archie Greene and Bruce Hawkins. All are in the Sheriff’s Office DOC Reentry Program except Lamarko Felix and Troy Joseph, who recently completed the GPS Offender Tracking Program.
Again congratulations to all of our graduates.
