The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Partners with Industrial Park

Friday, November 15, 2013

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office partnered with business owners in the Marcon Industrial Park area to start a new Business Watch program. Like a Neighborhood Watch program, the Business Watch program helps businesses keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. As part of our partnership the LPSO Community Services Unit conducted a threat assessment and contacted Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, the electric supplier for the industrial park, and helped business owners get new street lights installed.  The new lights will allow passing motorists and law enforcement personnel to identify suspicious persons, and or vehicles that otherwise may have lurked in the darkness.  Deputy Mike Thomas is pictured here talking with Entergy personnel and a Marcon Industrial Park Representative during yesterday’s street light installation.  Contact us for more information on how the Business Watch program can help keep your business safe.
