20 year old dies from overdose

On Wednesday December 17, 2003 at approximately 7:30am Acadian Ambulance requested assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office at the100 Block of Mon Ami Road, in reference to a possible drug induced death involving a 20 year-old white male. Sheriff’s Office Detectives preliminary investigations did indeed indicate an accidental drug induced death. During the investigation 35 year-old John Sampson who was present at the residence was interviewed and subsequently charged with Obstruction of Justice and Theft, 29 year-old Sheree Fournet also present was charged with Obstruction of Justice and Possession of Schedule IV Narcotics. Sheriff’s Office Detectives are unable to release the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin; the investigation is continuing awaiting results from an autopsy.
