Sheriff to award Scholarship

Sheriff Mike Neustrom has teamed up with the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association Honorary Membership Group to award at least two graduating Lafayette Parish students with each $500 Scholarships, the LSA program annually awards one child per participating parish with a $500 scholarship and Sheriff Neustrom has issued a second graduating student the same cash amount.  There are no specified intended uses for the money the only requirement to receive the funds is that the student enroll in a Louisiana Higher Education Institution.  Students who intend to graduate high school in 2012 and who will enroll in a college are encouraged to apply; a minimum of two students will be selected to receive the scholarships.  Applications can be found at all Lafayette Parish Public High Schools, online at www.lafayettesheriff.com and at the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office at 316 West Main Street, Lafayette, LA 70501 all applications must be turned in by April 1, 2012.
