Monday, March 19, 2012

A total of 114 offenders graduated from Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Diversion Programs, including nineteen High School Equivalency degrees. Graduation ceremonies were held Wednesday, March 14 at the Community Corrections Campus located at 100 Poydras Street in Lafayette.

In addition to the GED graduates, other offenders successfully completed the Day Reporting Program, Reentry, Rehab, Intensive Outpatient and Transitional Work Programs.

The LPSO is a state leader in implementing diversion programs that teach the social and educational skills required to rehabilitate offenders into contributing members of society. Diversion Programs are proven to reduce recidivism as well as reduce the costs of incarceration and public safety.
