Marie Andrus is March Challenge Coin Award Recipient

Thursday, March 29, 2012

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that Marie Andrus, a classifications clerk in the Correctional Center, is this month’s winner of the Challenge Coin Award which recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation.

This  award is unique in the fact that each successive winner is picked by the prior month’s recipient, making it truly a peer-to-peer award. Challenge Coin recipients exemplify the words that all Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Employees strive to uphold: “To serve the community with courtesy professionalism, and respect.”

Marie Andrus is a 24-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office nominated by Deputy Alfred Hudson who praised Marie’s loyalty, honesty and leadership. Marie, as a result of her a Challenge Coin Award, now has the honor of identifying and nominating the next award winner.
