The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Deputy James Brian Guillory has been selected as the October winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. Brian works as a security officer in the Youth Services section of the Corrections Division. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award. Brian was nominated by Paula Smith the prior winner. In her nomination letter, Paula wrote, “Getting to know Brian was truly been inspiring. His positive attitude is the first thing that stood out for me. He is never without a smile, has a contagious energy about him and is up to any task that is thrown his way. He will go above and beyond and is very professional in his dress as well as in his mannerisms. Brain shows great enthusiasm and devotion towards his job and work ethic. He is the epitome of our values in Corrections, creativity, honor, excellence, innovation & leadership. With that being said, I congratulate him on his award.”

The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Brian identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations Deputy James Brian Williams on being recognized for a job well done!
