Rape suspect arrested

Sheriff's Office Detectives have arrested 27-year-old Terrence Landry of Lafayette on charges of Forcible Rape and Aggravated Burglary. Presently, no bond has been set for Terrance Landry who is being held at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. on Friday-January 14, 2005 Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Maywood Street in reference to a rape. Upon Deputies arrival, they spoke with the victim—a 21 year-old female—who stated that when she arrived home that morning, her ex-boyfriend Terrance Landry was hiding in her closet. The victim states that he then began to hit her about the face and body, and then forcibly raped her. The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was last reported to be in stable condition. Sheriff's Detectives were able to locate and arrest the suspect shortly after the incident.
