5th Annual National family Violence Apprehension Detail

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office will be participating in the 5th annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail scheduled for October 18, 2007. We will be working with agencies throughout the State as well as agencies across the country, in an effort to arrest persons with outstanding family violence warrants. All participating agencies will serve outstanding arrest warrants with charges ranging from Harassment to Murder. For the past four years this event has been instrumental in apprehending family violence offenders. There will be over 150 Law Enforcement Agencies participating nationwide.

Ultimately, this collaborative effort will raise awareness about the problem of family and domestic violence in our communities and demonstrate that this social problem is important to law enforcement and communities. It also demonstrates to offenders that they will be held accountable for their crimes and increase the safety of their victims.
