LPSO Offender Work Crews Assist with Mardi Gras Clean-Up

Supervised offender work crews from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office have been busy helping with the parish’s post-Mardi Gras cleanup efforts. Since February 12, 2012, LPSO offender work crews have cleaned up after eight parades in the cities of Lafayette, Scott and Carencro. In some cases, cleanup was conducted overnight, in an effort to have work completed as soon as possible. A total of 15 work crews, consisting of more than 90 supervised offenders The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office contracts with local governments to provide cost effective cleanup and green space maintenance services. This saves tax dollars and provides offenders the opportunity to work and contribute positively to the community.
This is just one of the many services that LPSO Inmate Industries provides the community throughout the year for the citizens of Lafayette Parish.
