Tuesday, October 16, 2012
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Corrections Center Mental Health LPC Intern Corey Gros has been selected as the August winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Corey Gros was nominated by Nurse Ian Duplantis. In his nomination letter, Ian wrote, “In an environment that is inherently dangerous and stressful, Corey always seems to find the silver lining, striving to keep doing better and serving the community professionally. I believe his work ethic, positive attitude, and professional courtesy are the type of quality character traits that greatly symbolize the overall goals and mission of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Corey Gros identify and nominate the next award winner.
