Charlene Sonnier is the Challenge Coin Award Recipient for November

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Charlene Sonnier has been selected as the November winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. Charlene is the GED Supervisor in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Charlene Sonnier was nominated by Corrections Shift Lt. Michael Comeaux. In his nomination letter, Lt. Comeaux wrote, “She is professional and courteous to her peers, subordinates and the offenders. Mrs. Sonnier supports and respects her staff and the offenders. She has a positive attitude which contributes to the success she has educating the offender population.”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Charlene Sonnier identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations Charlene Sonnier on being recognized for a job well done!
