The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Deputy Carolyn Woods has been selected as the May winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. Deputy Woods works as a security officer in the Transportation Department of the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Carolyn was nominated by Shawn Wright the prior winner. In his nomination letter, Shawn wrote, “Deputy Woods is my choice because of her vibrant personality and her desire to help. I have often noticed that she goes above and beyond the call of duty to assist when needed. Carolyn’s knowledge has helped to accomplish many tasks. I feel she is one to ask if you want to get results. Carolyn has one of the best work ethics that I have observed, she accepts any challenge that is presented to her with a positive attitude, and she also fully participates in her duties with pride and diligence. Carolyn is the prime example of what the Challenge Coin represents.”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Carolyn identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations Deputy Carolyn Woods on being recognized for a job well done!
