Thursday, June 6, 2013
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Deputy Allison Jones has been selected as the June winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. Allison works as a security officer in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center’s Intake area. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Allison was nominated by Carolyn Woods the prior winner. In her nomination letter, Carolyn wrote, “Deputy Jones is my choice because of her work ethics, her people skills and her personality. She comes to work every day and gives 100% and is always willing to help. She does not complain and has a positive attitude. She does what she has to do with a smile on her face. Deputy Jones treats everyone with respect including the Offenders. She understands that you have to give respect to get respect. Her knowledge and communication skills have helped to accomplish many skills. We need more deputies like Miss Jones.”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Allison identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations Deputy Allison Jones on being recognized for a job well done!
