Sheriff Mike Neustrom and LPSO honored by Louisiana Guard and Reserve
Thursday, June 19, 2014
Earlier this year the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office was one of select group of employers nominated for the prestigious Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award recognizes employers of Guard and Reserve personnel who provide exceptional support to those serving in the Guard and Reserves.
Even though not selected the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office was still recognized as a finalist. The letter of recognition from the Louisiana National Guard and Reserve stated that the nomination for this award illustrated the exceptional leadership, support and personal devotion that the Sheriff’s Office has shown for our country, its employees, and Guard and Reserve members.
Support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve is even more important today, in our country ability to maintain a cost effective force in readiness. Our military could not perform the duties of protecting the homeland or conducting ongoing contingency operations around the globe without an employer’s continued support.
