ACA Recommends Continued LPCC Accreditation
Tuesday, December 1, 2015
Auditors from the American Corrections Association having conducted the accreditation audit last week of the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center have informed the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office that as a result of the audit they will be recommending continued reaccreditation of the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center to the ACA Board in January. The Lafayette Parish Correctional Center received an overall score of 98 out of 100, with 100% compliance of all mandatory standards and 98% compliance of non-mandatory standards.
Congratulations goes out to the LPCC Accreditation Team who throughout the year maintains records of standards being followed as well as to the LPCC staff and management who do an outstanding job of making our facility one of the best.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office holds a total of seven national and international accreditations. In the past year, LPSO added the Transitional Work Program to the departments and programs now nationally accredited. Today, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office holds more national accreditations than any other sheriff’s office in the state and only one of a handful in the nation to have earned accreditation from four of the leading law enforcement and medical accrediting organizations in the country.
