Nedra Green Named February Challenge Coin Award Winner
Tuesday, March 1, 2016
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Nedra Green, a supervisor in the LPSO Youth Services Department, has been selected as the winner of the LPSO Corrections Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor, and innovation. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Ms. Green was nominated by the previous winner, Deputy Donald Steiner. Deputy Steiner wrote in his nomination letter, “This past summer I had the privilege of working with our summer camp. Every morning Ms. Green had a briefing with the staff to mark out the day, weather it was on site, or a field trip day it was totally planned out. Ms. Green is a quick thinker, the morning after the theater shootings she had a total different day planned out since the next day was usually a theater day. She assured the parents as they dropped off their kids for the day that she already had something else planned. Ms. Green made sure the kids respected the staff, and would always step in and handle any situation. It’s because of this, I am happy to nominate Nedra Green for the Challenge Coin Award.”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Nedra identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations to Nedra Green for a job well done!
