Jessica Hall is the Challenge Coin Award Recipient for December

Friday, January 4, 2013

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Jessica Hall has been selected as the December winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. Jessica works in the Intake Department of the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.

Jessica Hall was nominated by Corrections GED Program Supervisor Charlene Sonnier. In her nomination letter, Charlene wrote, “I first had an opportunity to collaborate with Mrs. Jessica Hall in January 2010, when the goal for the Education Department was to create an education pod for offenders enrolled in programs to be housed in one unit. Mrs. Hall took the task of re-classifying and moving offenders around to be placed in the Program’s pod. Taking on the additional task along with her regular duties, Mrs. Hall maintained an up-beat, can-do attitude; never calling attention to herself or wanting credit. She was never too busy to assist anyone who called, emailed or stopped her in the hallways, elevators or on her way out of the building, whether if it was to address a problem, question and/or concern from co-workers, supervisors or offenders.”

The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Jessica identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations Jessica Hall on being recognized for a job well done!
