Congratulations to our very own Lt. Armen Alexandrian who recently graduated from the National Jail Leadership Command Academy at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The NJLC Academy develops correctional officers for a successful transitioning into senior leadership positions within their agencies. It is considered an honor to be selected to attend the academy, since attendance is limited to 36 attendees per class nationally. Lt. Alexandrian and the rest of the graduates of the fall class of 2012 were recently featured in the January/February issue of American Jail Magazine. Armen is the manager of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Transitional Work Release Program. Lt Alexandrian is seated in the first row fourth from the left. Also featured in the same issue of American Jail Magazine was the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Inmate Industries Program (LAPCORR). The program -- the only one of its kind at the jail level in the State of Louisiana provides work and on the job training for Lafayette Correctional Center Inmates. LAPCORR Industries manufactures and markets a wide selection of products including, garbage bags, corrugated boxes, and institutional bedding for sale to governmental agencies, other correctional institutions and non profits statewide.
