Thursday, April 16, 2015
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Deputy Linda Watson, a deputy in the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division, has been selected as the latest winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor, and innovation. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Linda was nominated by the previous winner, Deputy Angela Labrie. In Deputy Angela’s nomination letter, she wrote, “I’d like to recognize her for her outstanding work ethic and her actions, her attributes of leadership, her creativity, honor, and innovation and always showing her leadership to me by knowing her policies. Deputy Watson is always willing to participate by working overtime. Deputy Watson has always lent a helping hand to the offenders. I have learned a lot from her, and I will continue to learn a lot from her. Deputy Watson is surely deserving of the Challenge Coin Award.”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Linda identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations to Deputy Linda Watson on being recognized for a job well done!
