Deputies of the Quarter

Administration–Kenny Duhon–Asst Director-Training & Professional Development
Deputy Kenny Duhon has proven himself as both an employee and a supervisor. He is eager to help co-workers and is known as a problem solver. Kenny often volunteers to give lectures to citizen groups on topics such as domestic violence, driving safety, civilian firearms, and hunting safety and serves as an instructor for the LPSO self-defense classes. Kenny is a “motivated” and “inspiring” employee who “personifies professionalism and a willingness to lead the way into the future.”

Corrections – Sergeant William Marmottin – Corrections Supervisor
Sgt. Marmottin is the “backbone” of his shift and has pulled his shift together through “tough and stressful times.” The deputies on his shift look up to him and consider him to be a “true old fashioned leader who backs his deputies 120%.”

Enforcement - Deputy Adam Morris – Patrol (Deputy Morris has been nominated twice for two separate incidents) 1) While responding to a criminal trespass call, Deputy Morris was notified that Communications had received several other calls in reference to attempted burglaries in progress in the same area. While checking residences in the area, Deputy Morris discovered an open door, searched the house with fellow deputies, and discovered the owner hiding in a closet and the suspect hiding under a bed. The suspect was under the influence and in possession of several bottles of medication, but was apprehended before he could cause serious harm to the homeowner, the deputies, or himself.
2) While responding to a Domestic Disturbance in progress with unknown circumstances, Deputy Morris was informed that known and unknown males had robbed the victim’s business. Deputy Morris located the known suspect, and through additional investigation, located the other suspect. Deputy Morris was able to get a confession from one of the suspects, which led to the arrest of both suspects and the recovery of all stolen property relating to the crime.
